When I wrote the piece on Diana of Ephesus, finding in that pagan deity the perfect image of Barack Obama’s nanny state, I never imagined it would lead me into writing a piece about abortion, a subject I’ve been wanting to write about for some time. But a truly amazing thing occurred that got me here: a Town Hall blogger named Glass Bead Maker-a gentleman completely unknown to me-posted a comment complimenting me for my piece on Diana (see). When I went to his blog to check out his work I found a fascinating article that he posted in March written by pro-life activist and writer Gingi Edmonds (see note 1).
The article was about the Butte, Montana plane crash of March 22nd, the crash that saddened the nation with its 14 deaths: 7 adults and 7 children divided into three families and the pilot. Now what fascinated me about Ms. Edmond’s piece was her report that 9 of the doomed flight's 14 victims were related to Dr. Irving 'Bud' Feldkamp of Redlands, California the millionaire owner of “Family Planning Associates,” who leased the crashed plane. FPA is the largest chain of for-profit abortion clinics in the Golden State exceeding in its size and work of death “every other abortion provider in California-including Planned Parenthood.” Dr. Feldkamp-a dentist by profession-lost in the crash two daughters, their husbands, five grandchildren and the family of a close friend.
Utterly fascinating to me was the plane’s crash site: a Roman Catholic cemetery named Catholic Holy Cross which, according to news reports was just “500 feet from its landing destination.” As if a plane carrying family members of an abortion profiteer crashing into a Catholic cemetery isn’t remarkable enough what struck me with awe was that this particular cemetery contains a memorial or shrine called “The Tomb of the Unborn” dedicated to the millions of unborn babies, the victims who have cruelly died in the abortion epidemic unleashed by Roe v. Wade: 50 million deaths and still counting with FeldKamp’s clinics adding tens and thousands to the holocaust each year. Was this crash at this site at this time in history, with a pro-abortion extremist as president, not a signature effect of a Higher Power? An unmistakable sign by tragic divine action whose side God is on in the battle over abortion? The God given inalienable right to life verses the unnatural invented right to kill and murder innocent unborn children.
The crashed plane, a single engine turboprop, had traveled 700 hundred miles from Oroville, California and had, as I said, only 500 feet to go before reaching the landing strip of Bert Moony Airport. Just 500 feet away from a safe landing or crash landing beyond Holy Cross and its holy shrine to the slaughter of innocents.
Two weeks after this unprecedented crash its cause remains a mystery: “To my knowledge,” said Bob Francis, a former VP at NTSB, “there had never been this type of crash with this type of plane (a Pilatus PC-12).” Amazingly, the plane was originally en route to Bozeman, Montana when the pilot for unknown reasons changed course to Butte. There are two Catholic cemeteries in Bozeman: Blondel Catholic Cemetery and Holy Rosary Cemetery neither of which has a Tomb to the Unborn. While there are other Catholic cemeteries around the country with this type of shrine the shrine in Butte is the only one I was able to find in Montana
Every abortion advocate reading this piece who believes in a Creator, the source of life, liberty and human dignity, who has endowed us with a living soul and a vehicle for its development and growth, I beg you to search your heart and conscience and ask yourself this question: could this crash at this site been a meaningless coincidence? the work of blind forces? a stroke of misfortune? the effect of senseless unordered chance? Or was it mercifully willed by a Higher Power to let us know of His displeasure with the practice of mass prenatal murder; sacrificing on the alter of morality and life the children and grandchildren of an abortion clinic owner, a doctor who should know better-who took the Hippocratic Oath-depriving him of their joy and pleasure as he deprives for profit the joy of life to many yet unborn? Do you not see the hand of justice in this?
14 people died that day going to their deaths in a fiery grave near a Tomb to the Unborn where worshippers come and pray and shed real tears for the little ones who are lost to us; lost because of the forgetfulness of our humanity and the principles of life and liberty that have made this country great-the last best hope of children everywhere born and yet to be.
Within the space of 66 days, from January 15th to March 22nd, this nation has witnessed three airplane crashes: the first two were signs of our national security, the third of our national morality (see note 2). We have a President in office and leadership in Congress weak on both, weak on military defense and defense of the unborn leading our nation into great and terrible peril and hopefully to repentance and national redemption. The Butte crash is evidence that God is with us. Proof by DIVINE ACTION AND INTERVENTION that He exists and backs the righteous cause of pro-life forces fighting the political and culture war for life, liberty and the rational pursuit of happiness; for law, morality and justice; for an end to Roe v. Wade. It is a sign which side is favored to prevail and that victory is on the way.
It is amazingly ironic that this piece began with my article on the goddess Diana. For in pre-Christian times Diana was the goddess of childbirth.
Postscript
As Barack Obama is the most radically anti-life president in U.S. history it is interesting to note the following remarkable coincidence:
One of the victims of the mysterious Butte crash was Dr. Brent Ching of Durham, California, son of Dr. Robert Ching long time friend of Dr. Feldkamp. What may be of oracular significance here for the administration and the progressive secularists on the Hill is that the name Durham is close to the last name of Madelyn Dunham Obama’s late grandmother: the former Hawaiian bank executive who died of cancer just prior to Obama’s election victory deprived by Providence of the happiness and joy of seeing him win the presidency-one of many grim signs of Obama's tragic destiny (see my essay: THE OMINOUS DEATH OF MADELYN DUNHAM.)
