The Obamunists at Huffington Post were psyching themselves up for a Mousavi victory in Iran's election yesterday with the credit going to what is now being called "the Obama Effect:" the magical influence of Obama's irresistible personality on world events.
Ignoring North Korea's detonation of a nuclear device and saber rattling (it was Bush's fault) the Left, bolstered in its views by the defeat of Hezbollah in Lebanon (the Lebanese heard Obama's Sermon from the Pyramids), anticiapted Ahmadinejad going down in flames in Friday's election losing to Mousavi an Obama like challenger popular with young voters with a message of hope, reform and change.
But with 80% of the vote in it looks like a landslide win for Ahmadinejad and four more years of his confrontational presidency. What then are we to attribute Ahmad's stunning victory? Could it be that the "Bush Effect" of warmongering and fear is still very much with us? And that the timing of Iran's election was unfortunately too early into the Obama Era? Or is Obama to blame for this terrible turn of events on what could be called: THE OBAMA DEFECT: a weak and worthless personality on the world stage easily resisted and ignored.
