Caesar Crossing the Rubicon
This morning Commoner's Sense posted a piece on his blog called "Ceasar" where he compares Barack Obama to the great Roman general who destroyed the Roman Republic after defeating its defenders in a civil war and crowned himself dictator for life. Commoner Sense wrote: "The ego that drove Caesar to cross the Rubicon under arms is the same ego driving Obama."
Obama may harbor Caesar-like ambitions for political control and power over our lives and think himself a semi-divine being destined for great and glorious things; but Fortune isn't blessing him with victory. While Caesar crossed the Rubicon from a limited Republic of free men and slaves into absolute tyranny where he alone was free Obama's drive to cross the river of free market capitalism into economic servitude and slavery is failing.
Ceasar triumphantly crossed the Rubicon and captured the defeneseless city of Rome deserted by Pompey and the republicans. But Americans aren't making that mistake. We are rising up majestically in defiant opposition to defend our republican liberties from this would be clueless Caesar who is sinking in their esteem and, turning into an object of scorn, drowning like a weakling in midstream*.
*According to Shakespeare (whose source might be Plutarch) Caesar who couldn't swim was once saved by Marc Anthony from drowning. But there will be no Marc Anthony to save Barack Obama and his Czars.
Oddly, the turning point for defeating Obama and stopping his advance came in the month of July, the month named in honor of Julius Caesar who bled to death like a loathsome dog on the Roman Senate floor stabbed by freedom loving republicans in 44 BC. Death to Obamanomics! Death to Obamacare! Death to the Left and their imperial big government dreams! There's no place for Caesar's in America the free.
