What would have been more shocking than President Obama receiving an undeserved Nobel Peace Prize is what the Nobel Committee would likely have done if John McCain were the 44th President. Indeed, the decision to award Obama the prize was so anti-Bush and nakedly politicized that if he had lost the race in 2008 he would probably have won the prize anyway-as a slap in the face to John McCain and a boost for Obama's 2012 campaign*.
*Beacuse Obama is the politically correct President Norway wants America to have the partisan Nobel Committee would have had his victory in 2012 uppermost in their minds when deciding the winner of the 09 Peace Prize.
Postscipt
Senator Obama would have won the prize for his compelling vision of engagement, diplomacy, multilateralism and the use of soft power for resolving international conflicts; and, of course, for his dream of an egalitarian world order free of nuclear weapons living in brotherhood, peace and shared prosperity. Obama's efforts to end the threatening menace of global warming would also have been cited as a reason for giving him the prize.
In their statement awarding Obama the prize the Nobel Committee would have done its best to shame and humiliate the American people for having missed their chance for national redemption and global transformation when McCain won the race on Election Day-giving the world four more years of Bush's unilateralism, bellicosity and swaggering warmongering cowboy foreign policy.
