Was Ohio the first step toward the Wilsonizing of the Obama Presidency? Will Obama’s rejected agenda become his obsessive League of Nations exhausting him and possibility ruining his health in a national campaign to sell it to the public?
Recall what I wrote
here months ago on the significance of Obama's middle name "Hussein" being one of many keys to understanding his character and tragic fate. For he shares with the dead Iraqi dictator of that name not his cruel and violent nature, as Obama is a civilized man, but his stiff necked intransigence and ruinous resistance to reason and change. In fact, if it weren't for Saddam's intransigence, if he had honored his agreements, complied with the UN and hadn't played strategic games with WMDs, he might still be in power with Obama in the Senate and Hillary as President. For Obama rode the tide of anti-Iraq war sentiment to victory first over Hillary and then John McCain-with help from a wounded economy.
Just as Saddam was stuck on stupid wrongly believing it was his destiny to become king and master of the Arab Middle East, restoring the "superior" Arab race it to its ancient glory as a great world power so too is Obama destructively stuck on his radical big government agenda and there's no ungluing him. Struck deaf, dumb and blind by the egalitarian ideal which gives his life purpose and meaning, having defined his political career for twenty years, Obama will steadfastly continue his reckless course on the economy, foreign policy and national security driving America into deeper debt and greater peril from enemies.
Indeed, the angry, pathetic delusional Obama that we saw in Ohio on Friday is the beginning of his "doubling down;" the redoubling of his efforts to succeed with his dream to fundamentally and foundationally transform this country. In this he resembles Woodrow Wilson, our first law professor in chief, in his national campaign on the League of Nations which ruined his health and destroyed his presidency.
Like Wilson and Saddam Obama will never give up, never give in, never admit defeat. No triangulation, as no flexible, pragmatic Bill Clinton is in him; but intransigence and soft confrontation fighting on to the bitter end. Indeed, after giving his speech in Ohio where he used the word “fight” twenty times Obama visited a sporting goods store where he picked up a football helmet and said to the cameras and crowd that he would need it for his State of the Union speech. Obama is committed to roughing it out and staying his disastrous course hoping in the end he’ll save his presidency and pride and score a touchdown.
Obama is certain that he's in the right, that God and history are on his side in his fight to remake and transform America. In fact, he is certain that in time history will vindicate him (as Wilson believed about the League); that Americans will eventually see the light and appreciate what he's done-or tried to do-for generations to come.
In Obama's pathological leftwing mind Socialism is the only way left for America. It's SOCIALISM OR BUST! Everything else has been tried. Obama is a true believer in his bankrupt New Deal/Great Society radical 60s leftist creed. And so BUST it will be for his big government cause, 60's world view and anti-Reagan presidency-taking down the radical Left as he falls.
Postscript: On George Will’s Mandate to Moderate
In his column in Sunday's Townhall George Will wrote that the Massachusetts miracle of Scott Brown's victory over the Kennedy legacy freed Obama from "the curse of the 60" in the US Senate and that the populist rage against his progressive agenda gave him a "mandate to moderate" that he should heed. But this sage advice is wasted on Obama as there is no George Will in him. Obama is not the rational, sensible, grown up human being that Will would have him be. As Obama has learned nothing from the tragedies and disasters of Liberalism’s past, be it the failed New Deal or the War on Poverty or the more recent spread the wealth housing credit collapse so he’s learning nothing from the electorate’s rejection of his leftwing plans. The fault doesn’t lie in Obama and his agenda-all of humanity and history is crying out for America‘s remaking; the fault lies in the American people with their guns, religion (other than Islam) and small minded self-centered lives. Bill Maher faulting America for not blindly following Obama said “Americans are stupid.” Obama agreeing with Maher will not yield to national stupidity but maintain his false integrity and plow on.
Barack Hussein Obama, the man with the dead Iraqi leader's last name, (a man driven by hubris and ideology to destruction) believes he has a mandate from heaven (he is "partner's with God") to fight on for the cause of destructive big government budget busting radical Liberalism. Obama will not triangulate or moderate or turn into a Clintonite. He’ll continue to resist giving Bill and Hillary the job as mentors-in-chief. For twenty years he has lived for one idea that one day he’d be president and that Providence would give him the chance, the great “defining moment“, to transformationally change America and radically alter its course. No way in hell is Obama going to throw away the chance of twenty lifetimes because of a Senate race gone awry or the loss of Virginia and New Jersey.
My God, what would the Kennedy clan say if Obama gave up the “dream” that’s supposed to "live on" until the “more perfect Union” becomes reality? The torch Obama received when the Kennedys crowned him the “new JFK,” what would it mean if he suddenly extinguished its flame and became like the Clintons who he beat with Ted Kennedy's aid? To do so would dishonor the memory of his kingmaker, mentor and friend. Obama discarding his core beliefs for political expediency and throwing his world view under the train is out of the question. Rev. Wright and his grandmother were expendable, but not the ideology that defines his existence, life's mission and reason for living. Like Salvador Allende who preferring confrontation to moderation went down in flames defending Socialism with a gun Obama will stick to his guns and fight on the prisoner of a tragic fate.
This intransigent, foolish, vainglorious man who sees himself as savior of the radical Left and centuries of failed revolutions and experiments is “doubling down” for the ideological fight of the ages-the apocalyptic battle for America‘s future between Right and Left, between the Founders and radical transformers. Because of Scott Brown’s victory the Senate is now free of a Democrat super majority of 60; but this 60s born man with his leftist heart and brain isn’t free from the CURSE OF THE SIXTIES.
