The supreme, insidious guides of two Islamic Revolutions
In February 1979 the revered, radical Shiite cleric Ayatollah Khomeini returned to Tehran from exile in France to a tumultous welcome. He returned to take charge of Iran's revolt against the shah and turn it into an Islamic, sharia driven, fascist revolution with unlimited global aims. khomeini who extolled self-sacrificing martydom for Islam as the highest religious duty and noblest way to die considered America and Israel the two greatest evils on earth and the most dangerous foes of the faith and new revolution; demonizing both as the "Great and Little Satan," Khomeini prayed and called daily (during his disastrous ten year reign) for their defeat and destruction-and took covert action against them when he could using proxies. To this day these twin objectives remain the focus of the Khomenists who back Hezbollah, Hamas and the Taliban in their jihads against Israel and America; and are building the ultimate weapon of terror and death to menace the world.
Egyptians turn out en masse to hear Qaradawi deliver his first speech in Egypt since 1981.
In February 2011 the revered, radical, Sunni cleric Youseff Qaradawi, born like Khomeini in the month of September*, gave his first public speech in Egypt in 30 years to a thunderous crowd of believers conservatively estimated at 200,000. In his address at Tehrir Square Qaradawi, a proponent like Khomeini of the sharia controlled state, said that Egypt's Islamic revolution was still unfinished and only at its beginning, and warned against "hypocrites" hijacking it. By "hypocrites" the radical cleric meant phony, nominal, westernized Moslems-meaning secular Egyptians (like Mubarak) in Moslem guise who'd take Egypt in the wrong direction against the will of Allah and the holy Koran. In other words, Qaradawi sees himself as Allah's supreme guardian and guide of Egypt's revolution-the very role that Khomeini assumed for himself upon returning to Iran.
*Khomeini was born September 24, 1902. Qaradawi's birth date was September 9, 1926.
Moreover, Qaradawi, like Khomeini, is a violent, obsessive Israel hating, anti-Semite. In fact his rage against Jews is so extreme and insane that he praised Hitler for the Holocaust and six million dead as a justified act of God's avenging hand, and prays that Moslems be given the same lucky chance to mass murder Jews and "put them in their place." In fact, along with killing US and British troops in Iraq and Afgahanistan murdering Jews is so high up on Qaradawa's list of religious imperatives* that he hopes to God to end his life dying a martyr's death while killing them in Palestine. If the imam can die in this "noble" way the treasures that await him in heaven will be limitless.
*I'm waiting for Qaradawi to make killing of Jews the 7th pillar of Islam.
Though Khomeini and Qaradawi are like minded men unlike the former the latter will not ascend to the political leadership of Egypt. But with millions of Egyptians adoring this hateful, toxic, wicked man, thinking him a saint whose touch confers blessings*, he could prove a decisive factor in electing Egypt's next president-with a huge block of parliamentary seats captured by Islamists to go with it. Therein lies the danger. With Qaradawi loose in Egypt and organizing the faithful against the hypocrites and secularists you have to despair for its democratic future and the peace and security of the combustible Middle East.
*After Qaradawi's speech thousands of starstruck Eygptians crowded around him trying to touch him.
