A tired looking Obama way over his head caught between the rock and a headache on the deficit/debt talks.
At 1300 hours today (1 pm) our weak, smileless leader in retreat reported that nothing was accomplished at today's "constructive" meeting on the debt and deficit. Said Obama "the parties came together in the spirit of compromise..... but are still far apart." In other words, Republicans are resisting Obama's destructive Hooverism (raising taxes during on a fragil economy) and doubling down on their pledge of no new taxes on anyone. I can hear Ronald Reagan cheering from heaven. Obama was smileless because he's losing the battle. Americans aren't buying his BS on default. From his ideological perspective Obama's caught between the rock and a headache having no good options and fearing the worse for his reelection hopes.
Because the $800 billion non-stimulus has miserably failed to trigger a roaring recovery and put America back to work, because it hasn't created the millions of new tax payers in the private sector to boost federal revenues, our government-stimulator-spendthrift in chief (government on all levels has prospered under him) is calling for job killing, higher, "patriotic" taxes on the rich-the employers of our country. There are never enough government dependents for these control freaks. The more misery and tears the better. This is the screwed up imbecile we elected president. The bankrupt leftist who values "fairness" above economic growth, wants four more years to stay the course and finish what he started. Because of his social justice, entitlement mentality (the same spread the wealth stupidity that caused the housing collapse and recession) Obama is genuinely fearful of cutting spending, believing it will worsen the economy and cost him the presidency.
Spooking Obama is 1937 (the dreaded Roosevelt recession within the Depression) where the New Deal imploded and millions lost their jobs. Obama (against all evidence) religiously and dogamtically believes (with atheist Paul Krugman) that spending cuts is what caused that crisis, and he's going to fight like hell not to go there. Which means continued deadlock. Better to keep the status quo (spending $300 billion per month) and hope that the weak recovery picks up steam than cut spending now and cause a double dip recession and win a cursed place in history. That's what I believe is what's going on in Obama's leftist brain.
