It fell far short of the outcome that many of us desired, merely slowing down our slide into bankruptcy and ruin; but yesterday was an awful day for Obama and his party, and a victory for the Tea Party, however slight. If you don't believe me then go to HuffPo, MoveOn or other leftist sites. You'll be scorched by the rage and fury burning there; the anger taking aim at Obama for this deal is volcanic.
Indeed, the reckless, feckless, clueless wonder gutted, gored and floored himself. His incompetency has finally caught up with him and has defined his presidency for the rest of his term. From calling for a clean increase in the debt with no spending cuts (despite Moody's downgrade threats); then agreeing to cuts with new taxes on the rich, the bluffer in chief's strategy of scaring us to death with the phony default date of August 2nd blew up in his face. The same public that rejected ObamaCare and believe that the stimulus has failed, who's suffered through his broken pledges, shams and lies for two painful years, opposed the debt ceiling increase with the Tea Party (see); and with the Tea Party wanted a Balanced Budget Amendment to bring down the deficit and debt, preferring spending cuts to tax hikes as the cure for our distress.
And now the emperor is naked with everyone to see what an amateur, joke and loser he is; they see a rank, inexperienced, poorly gifted man who imagined he was fated for greatness and renown-hoping to spend the nation into social justice heaven, and make peace by butt kissing his intolerant Moslem brethren. He's a nowhere man perplexed and lost who doesn't know himself anymore; whose exalted self-image and false self-esteem are being smashed to bits on the anvil of reality; who Providence is cutting down to size bringing his arrogance, ideology and dreams to naught. But the story isn't over, the worst is yet to come; but in the end this Republic will be reborn.
