So it wasn't a random accident after all. Operation Odyssey Dawn, the original name for US/NATO intervention in the Libyan civil war, foreshadowed the dangerous ideological splits that are emerging in the rebel ranks between hardline Islamist absolutist and Secularists. This practically ensures that the Libyan Revolution is ODYSSEY BOUND to morph into a protracted second civil war between both groups-and God knows what else given the ancient tribal divisions of the country and with Kaddafy still loose. We are creating a horrific mess (a post-Saddam Iraq without US/coalition troops, or a second Somalia with oil) unless NATO and the US put boots on the ground to keep the peace. Having defied good sense (and public opinion) by going ahead with this "non-war" Obama will have much explaining to do well in advance of Election Day-his day of political doom. Poor little senseless man, he led from his behind (following France like we did in Vietnam) and can't blame Bush on this one.
