Two little men with big Islamist dreams collapsing painfully around them shattered by the infidel.
In a piece that I wrote last year related to Con Ed's part ownership of Park 51 (thanks for reminding me Marion) I predicted that imam Rauf's towering pride would be his undoing and downfall, and that the unpopular, controversial Ground Zero mega-mosque would never be built. And so it is not. Slumlord Rauf and grifter, deadbeat, Islamist thug Sharif-El Gamal (lead developer of the project) rejected then Governor David Paterson's generous offer to defuse the Ground Zero mosque issue, and reconcile with the 9/11 families, by relocating the project to property owned by New York State. But the honor of Allah and Islam was at stake, and Rauf wouldn't budge. Rauf imagined that God had called him to build this mosque at Ground Zero; that it was either there or nowhere; he believed that building it where militant Islam killed 3000 innocent people was necessary for the preordained triumph of Islam over the Great Infidel Satan: the United States of America. Hence, the Malaysian title of Rauf's book:

Con Ed owns the building on the Left, Gamal & Co. the building on the right.
Indeed, Rauf was so blinded, trapped and boxed in by his supramacist theology and ideology that he couldn't agree to another location without believing he'd betray God, Koran and Islam-an unpardonable sin. So Rauf and his Park 51 gang doubled down on their intransigence and refused to even talk to Governor Paterson's office. WHAT FOOLS! And now Con Ed is evicting them from the property (the half that Con Ed owns) for non-payment of $1.7 million in back rent (see).
The project continues to shrink going from 15 stories, to five stories, to one half of the property.The mega mosque is gone. And imam Rauf's triumphalist dream of Islam converting and conquering America is whittling down to zero.

Postscript I
CORPORATE GREED is closing down the Cordoba House of Interfaith Peace at Ground Zero. Only the worst kind of capitalist greed (and maybe Islamophobia) can raise a (Moslem) tenant's rent retroactively from $2700 per month to $47,000. When the bankrupt America fleabag gangsters get wind of this (to show their solidarity with world Islam and the Arab Spring) they will march on Con Ed (a dirty energy company) led by sicko, pinko Michael Moore.
Postscript II: MOSLEMS OF NEW YORK UNITE!
Rally around Gamal and Rauf. Punish Con Ed and go on a customer strike. Don't pay your bills, let your homes go dark. Many of you have Bedouin souls, hardened by ages of desert life. When the power's cut off you will survive.
