60 DAZE OF OWS RAGE AND WALL STREET STAYS OPEN FOR BUSINESS

"All day, all week, shut down Wall Street!" shouted a thousand delusional OWSers yesterday as they amassed near the New York Stock Exchange in celebration of the two month anniversary of their incoherent movement. But since the protests began on September 17th what has it accomplished? What do OWSers have to show for 60 days of pointless rage? Aside from the rapes, murders, robberies, puking indecency and mass arrests neither the NYSE nor any office on Wall Street shut down during business hours for a single moment. The 18th century revolutionary mob in Paris, France (1000 strong) stormed the Bastille (symbol of royal oppression) and took it over igniting a victorious insurrection that ended in the destruction of the monarchy and years of murderous bloodshed. But so far this raucous mob of leftist loons have failed in their objectives. After storming the financial district many times (the citadel of capitalist greed) it's still standing strong and tall occupied by "money grubbing" brokers, "crooked robber" bankers, "reckless" financial speculators, and "overpaid" CEOs. Try as they may to overthrow the status quo these weak, unpopular, impotent hooligans can't shut down Wall Street and spark a nationwide revolt against capitalism and its "evil, unjust inequalities." The revolution isn't working as more and more Americans are disgusted by the mayhem.

However, if OWSers are to succeed they have to become more radical and extreme in their militancy and follow the ultimate path for shutting down Wall Street: the 9/11 terror attack. Indeed, unless OWS resorts to terror and mass murder they will never shut down Wall Street in a thousand years. Imagine the envy that Occupiers must feel for bin Laden and Al Qaida after 60 days of fruitless and frustrating protests? If only they could do something monstrously horrific on the scale of destroying the World Trade Center downtown, now that would shut down the New York Stock Exchange like Al Qaida did for six days costing billions. Is there an alliance between the violent Occupiers and jihadists ahead? Already the movement is in bed with nonviolent radical Islamists. Al Qaida, Hezbollah, or the Taliban could be the next disastrous step.

By the way, after the 9/11 event in 2001 the NYSE reopened for business on September 17th, ten years to the day before Occupy Wall Street mania began. God has a sense of humor. What a sign of this movement from hell accomplishing nothing-except, perhaps, great damage to Obama and his party.

Postscript: The #30,000

MSN's Ed Schultz, on last night's Dead Head Show, was glorying in yesterday's anniversary protests because of the numbers that showed up: 30,000 according to police reports. Ed (and his giddy guests) was so impressed by this that he declared the day a smashing success, and then proceeded to rub it in the face of Bill O'Reilly and the Right who have declared the movement on its death bed.

Now that was 30,000 bodies in a city of how many, 8 million? That's less than .5% of the total population. Not exactly what I would call a massively mass movement. In Cairo at Tahrir Square, for example, 50,000 people gathered on January 25th for the first day of protests. By day 7 the crowd had swelled to 100,000 strong. And at its height on February 11th (16 days after the protests began) Tahrir Square had 300,000 protesters, ten times the number that gathered on day 60 in New York yesterday. WOW, ED, I'M BLOWN AWAY! WHAT IMPRESSIVE NUMBERS! OWS ROCKS!
