HILLARY CLINTON'S PREDICTION THAT AMERICA WOULD "FALL BACKWARDS" UNDER BARACK OBAMA

President Barack Obama
In 2008 Obama promised that his presidency would be a "great defining moment" in American history. Instead it has definitively been a great disappointment and disaster.

This Friday last when Newt Gingrich shed tears at a campaign stop in Iowa when asked about his late mother it immediately brought to everyone's mind Hillary Clinton's emotional moment in the 2008 race when her patriotic feelings for America and falling poll numbers against Obama briefly got the better of her cheerfulness. What has been forgotten is that this very moving episode (the emotions were real see it here) was aimed specifically at Obama and the disaster that he'd be for the country if elected President.

Lamenting about the huge "array of problems that we have and the potential for it spinning out of control" Hillary warned that we were in danger of "falling backward as a nation" and going into decline. With her voice cracking she said that this trend was reversible (which it is) and that "some of us are right [for the job as president to solve our problems and reverse course] and some are wrong [for the job and worsening the problems will enable our decline]." Then taking a jab at Obama's inexperience and immaturity to be President in time of crisis, and that he was clueless on how to solve our problems, reverse our decline, and restore America's greatness, Hillary tearfully said, "Some of us will know what to do on day one. Some of us haven't really thought it through."

Well after three awful years of the most inept, incompetent and fiscally reckless president in US history Hillary Clinton's warning has proved prophetic. Indeed, America's (reversible) decline, which began under Bush, has been accelerated by Obama to the point that most Americans despairingly see darkness ahead believing that America's best days are past, and that the worst is yet to come (see).

This pervasive, corrosive psychological mood of gloom and doom is unprecedented in American history. Indeed, even in the darkest days of the Great Depression when unemployment hit 25%, and there were bread lines everywhere feeding hungry Americans, there has never been such a steep decline in public morale and faith in the future as there is now. Even with the economy in shambles most Americans in the 1930s never gave way to the degree of pessimism and cynicism that we see today. And why should they feel differently given our executive leadership? With the national debt at $15 trillion dollars and growing, and with a President who claims that we haven't spent enough, or been taxed enough, or redistributed enough wealth from rich to poor ($14 trillion has been redistributed since the late 60s), who believes that despite massive fear and distrust of government (see) that bigger, greater, more expensive government is the answer, it's impossible for Americans to be confident in his leadership and feel that better days lie ahead for themselves and their children.

President Obama and Newt Gingrich
A dismil record of failure and poor leadership vs. a stunning record of accomplishments under Reagan and Bill Clinton.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!  Barack Obama is a failed President, and most Americans oppose his reelection (see). America is hungry for solutions and ideas. Hungry for an inspiring vision of the future that will restore their confidence in America's exceptional greatness and destiny, and make them believe again. And the only candidate running with such God-given, inspirational, Churchillian gifts is Newt Gingrich. As the GOP nominee Newt will run a pro-American, solutions oriented, supply-side stimulus, restoration campaign; while Obama will run a negative, dirty, anti-Gingich, war on wealth campaign. While Gingrich will emphasize his conservative accomplishments as a Congressman under Ronald Reagan (helping the Gipper to win the Cold War and end the malaise of the Carter years) and as House Speaker with the Contract for America (welfare reform, balanced budgets, job creation, etc.), Obama with no record to boast of will  focus on Newt's two divorces, House censure for ethics violations, and dealings with Fanny and Freddie-this won't fly, especially the latter with a President who when a lawyer worked with ACORN in shaking down banks to issue bad minority loans (the stuff that brought down the economy in 08 (see)).

Obama is the Great Depressor, depressing our hopes, our dreams, our national spirit.

Indeed, what is Newt's "baggage" compared to a dismally failed and demoralizing President leading the nation over the cliff into national bankruptcy-economic, strategic, and military decline? Obama's negatives are in the stratosphere and climbing overshadowing Gingrich's past misdemeanors and sins. Not only is the older, wiser, more sensitive Newt electable, not only can he beat Obama head to head and decimate him in debate, he would make a great Ronald Reagan-like President, as Reagan's eldest son Michael says (see).

Newt's intellectual charisma has been key to his comeback and can take him all the way to the White House defeating an intelligent dope with superficial charms and no intellectual depth who'd look empty and ignorant in debate.
