OBAMA'S LOSS OF CATHOLIC SUPPORT AND TED KENNEDY WOULD HAVE OPPOSED OBAMA MANDATE

http://thecommonconstitutionalist.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/obama-anti-catholic1.jpg.

The raging controversy over Obama's birth control mandate goes to the larger issue of Obamacare's hugely unpopular and tyrannical reach into businesses, faith based organizations and the healthcare lives of communities, families and individuals. Last night on Larry O'Donnell's Last Word Arianna Huffington tried to belittle GOP opposition to the mandate by saying that for them it's  "Ultimately about contraception, and debating contraception in 2012, including the idea that somehow aspirin between your legs* is the [contraception] trick -- you and I should have mentioned that to our daughters, we forgot it -- is not working for them." It's not working for whom?

This refers to Foster Friess’s bad aspirin joke.

Actually it's Obama who's taking asprins over the needless headache he's caused himself by ignoring the advice of Biden and Daley, and lying to Archbishop Dolan, on the birth control exemption. Rasmussen and Pew (see) both report that Catholics and Evangelicals by double digit margins support the Catholic bishops and oppose Obama's intrusive, insensitive, freedom crushing mandate. Obama's folly in backstabbing Dolan and the bishops, and issuing a phony and insulting accomodation which defines religious affliates (schools, hospitals, charities) as non-religious, has served to reinforce the notion for millions of voting Christians that he's an anti-religious progressive with a special animus for Christianity and the Catholic Church-while kowtowing to Islamic supremacists hellbent on destroying western civilization. Again I say, Obama has stirred up a hornets nest that will sting him all the way to Election Day.

TED KENNEDY WOULD HAVE OPPOSED OBAMA MANDATE

As I wrote here the unconstitutional birth control mandate was announced on January 20 which ominously fell on the third anniversary of Obama's inaugural-when he botched his constitutional oath on the word "faithfully" just two hours before Ted Kennedy (Obama's Catholic kingmaker and mentor) collapsed from a left sided brain tumor. Now that Catholic support for Obama is collapsing it looks like Kennedy's inaugural mishap was prophetic.

Strangely enough, if Kennedy were alive today there is reason to believe that he'd be joining the bishops and Republicans in opposing Obama's mandate. For as noted by Scott Brown (see) in 1995 Kennedy supported a bill which provided an exemption for healthcare workers so they would not be required to provide “an item or service” they found objectionable based on “religious belief or moral conviction.” And before he died in 2009 Kennedy in a letter to the Pope pledged, "I believe in a conscience protection for Catholics in the health field, and I'll continue to advocate for it as my colleagues in the Senate and I work to develop an overall national health policy that guarantees health care for everyone (see)." Given Kennedy's sensitivity to Catholic concerns in this area(which Obama is totally lacking in) it's hard to imagine that he'd support Obama's accomodation which requires Catholic insurers to cover contraception, sterilization and abortion pills in their policies. Would this have made Kennedy anti-contraception lefties?
