Obama banished me from the Oval Office, now it's your turn to throw him out.
Once again we are hearing the story which outraged us in 2009 about Obama banishing Winston Churchill's bust (a gift of Tony Blair to George Bush) from the Oval Office and White House. What many don't know is that when it blew up into a controversy and made Obama look undiplomatically anti-Churchillian the White House responded by saying that the Churchill bust was replaced by a bust of Abraham Lincoln-meaning that Obama replaced the one with the other not because of any ill-will or antipathy toward Churchill (the last of the great British imperialists and savior of England), but out of love for Lincoln one of his favorite presidents "from whom he could draw inspiration in difficult times." But why couldn't he have both? Surely there's more than enough room in the Oval Office for the two ? Truth is he couldn't stand the sight of Churchill. Truth is he hates the man and didn't want to see his image in his office. But it gets worse. I did a little digging and discovered that the story of replacing one bust with the other was completely bogus-another whopping Obama lie. Obama didn't replace the Churchill with a Lincoln. Far from it. Both busts were already decorating the Oval Office when Obama arrived at the White House, put there by George W. Bush a great admirer of both men. The little weasel simply banished the Churchill bust and kept the Lincoln. You can read the story here.
