My policies are working, the economy is slowly returning. But we've got to continue experimenting. Then happy days will be here again.
Invoking Franklin Roosevelt in his convention speech-the only president to be reelected with an unemployment rate topping 8%-Obama pledged that in his second term he'd continue in the spirit and legacy of FDR's New Deal (which prolonged the Great Depression by seven years) and "boldly and persistently experiment" with new ideas to fix the weak economy. My God! is there no end to this man's madness? Not only is this an admission that his stimulus was an $860 billion failure (if it's a success what need is there to experiment?) but that he hasn't a clue on what to do for fixing the economy. What Obama knows how to do and can't help doing is to SPEND BABY SPEND with wild and blind abandon hoping that something, anything, whatever will work.
In other words, in his second term Obama is willing to double down on stupid and chance more experimentation-more multi-billion dollar "cash for clunkers" failures regardless of the cost and the alarm it causes. This means that his first year in office was just the beginning; that he plans to spare no expense in repairing the economy and spending the country back to prosperity-which has never been done before. But Obama is hell bent on making history and being the one to prove the critics wrong; to prove Keynes right: that government spending can work in creating tons of jobs in a booming economy where consumption is fully energized. And if that means running up massive Japanese size debts of 215% of GDP (they've had 22 years of failed stimulus experiments to end a recession) then so be it. Eventually we'll reach the promised land where prosperity will return in an avalanche of jobs and expanding business, and our massive debts will pay off in the end. Then again we might not get there. Obama's second term, like the first, could be a flop. But fear not, his failures will give us direction and we'll be the better for it. We'll have the wisdom to know what doesn't work and that will bring us closer to what does-closer to the truth. Isn't that what experimentation is about?
There is no stronger proof than this that Obama is a dangerous, crackpot lunatic and must be removed from office, or restrained in a straight jacket.
