Is Mother Nature about to put Al Gore and the global warming movement in deep freeze?
Several years ago solar physicists from the US National Solar Observatory and US Air Force Research Lab (
see) discovered the vanishing of sun spots on the Sun's surface indicating as it did in 1645 a lowering of magnetic solar activity (heat and energy output) and possibly the dawn of a mini ice age-which climate change catastrophists like Al Gore predicted could not possibly happen without a drastic reduction in atmospheric, "heat trapping" CO2 emissions. Indeed, from 1645 to 1715 the earth cooled down for 70 years until the vanished sun spots reappeared accompanied by a rise in solar activity (just before the industrial age) with our planet entering a new global warming cycle-which have leftists in an apocalyptic frenzy of coming global doom.
It will be fascinating to see in the years ahead if climate history repeats itself and that the disapparence of sun spots is an omen of a global cooling trend. If it is watch alarmists take credit for it by claiming that their efforts to reduce CO2 emissions were successful, and that the good work must continue by doubling down on reducing emissions.
But there's more bad news for alarmists. Defying their dire predictions of a dangerous, ceaseless, linear rise of global temperatures-until Antarctica melts and the Earth becomes a water world of seafaring boat people-is a 16 year period of static global surface temperatures despite a 10% to 20% increase of atmospheric CO2 and other "noxious" gases and fumes (see and see). Now when the planet was transitioning from the prior global warming cycle to the start of the last ice age (368 years ago) was there a period of static surface temperatures like there is today? We don't know as the science of measuring the earth's temperature began 150 years ago. Be that as it may, the temperature standstill of the last 16 years prove that CO2 emissions are not driving the climate.

But getting back to other possible signs that Mother Earth is moving into a new ice age the cruelest cut of all to people like Gore-who Nature must truly abhor -is the return of snow to Mt. Kilimanjaro whose snowless peaks Gore pointed to (in An Inconvenient Truth along with other optical tricks) as evidence of a coming global warming
disaster (
see). The dishonesty of Gore at the time was so blatently evident because he couldn't point to the same phenomena on other elevated mountains like the Himalayas or Rockies.
Now are vanishing sun spots, the flattening of global temperatures and snow gracing Kilimanjaro signs that a new ice age is at hand? It doesn't bode well for Global Warming alarmists like Gore and Obama and their politically failing movement that's been in decline since the Climategate scandal in 2009. Indeed, with a 1000 coal burning plants coming on line in the next few years (mostly out of China and India (see)) and disappointing electric car sales (41,000 in the last few years when Obama expected a million*) warmers better pray to Gaia that their dreadful forecasts are wrong because humanity has put them on ignore, and trillions upon trillions of man caused tons of greenhouse gases will be pumped into our atmosphere soon. In the meantime politically incorrect and guilty free enjoy driving your SUVs.
