I posted the following comment on HuffPo just to see what reaction it would get and wasn't surprised by the results:
"REPEAL THE SECOND AMENDMENT NOW!
And place a welcome mat in the doorways of all American homes for killers, rapists, thugs and thieves."

As usual, your crew chooses to misunderstand the opposition. Most of us aren't trying to take your guns away...just trying to prohibit the ownership of semi-automatic weapons and large-capacity clips. DID YOU HEAR THAT??? I doubt it.

The vast majority of Americans that own these weapons are a danger to no one; and the chances of you being the victim of gunfire by any gun semi-automatic or not are infinitesimally small.
And then we have a deranged person in CT who gunned down 27 innocent people because his mother apparently did not properly secure her weaponry. Is your "freedom" to own assault weapons worth 27 lives? Not to me.

Since the vast, vast majority of homicide shootings in this country are carried out by handguns not by so-called assault weapons what's your argument now? Is my freedom to own a handgun worth the thousands of yearly handgun deaths? The answer is YES! I am willing to chance being killed by a handgun (or any gun) so long as I have the freedom to own a gun-or as many as I see fit to own. Now what did you say about not taking my gun rights away?
Once again Sparky, rational gun control is not the repeal of the Second Amemdment.
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" The Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights.
The President and VP are not saying no guns, they are saying no to certain types of guns. So go load up on those muskets Sparky, cause that's all that was around during the writting of the second amendment.

We have sufficient gun control in America with the vast majority of gunowners responsibly controlling their weapons. If that weren't so then millions of gunowners would be killing and injuring scores of people in a true, horrific epidemic of out of control gun violence that would make this country one huge killing field.
Again, more hyperbole, more nonsensical hysteria and rhetoric. You've probably not even read the article, you saw GUN control and popped a synapse.

You want "gun control" and call me "hysterical" when the chances of you being killed or injured by gunfire in this country are infintesmally small?
Again with more HYPERBOLE. It's been proven households with a firearm have more accidental deaths than house holds without them, they don't prevent ANYTHING. As well, NO WHERE in that article says you won't be able to have a gun, you just need to prove that you're mentally BALANCED, and I think THAT has most Rightwingers upset because they know they are not and probably wouldn't pass the test.

Of the millions of US households that legally own 300 million guns how many suffer accidental deaths by gunfire? The number is so fractionally small that only unbalanced anti-gun nuts make a big issue of it. Moreover, if rightwingers are mentally unbalanced because of their belief system, and it is dangerous for them on that account to own guns, then where is the rash of rightwingers going berserk and shooting people? Where are the horrendous rightwing massacres? Come to think of it lefties like you provide a good reason not to have mental testing for gun ownership as the process could be corrupted and politicized. Only a fool would want to give the Federal Government that kind of power.
So you can't defend yourself with a hand gun or rifle? It has to be an assault rifle or you are doomed?

How are so-called assault rifles any more of a threat to you than hand guns when there are more hand guns on the streets than "assault" rifles?

If Piers Morgan feels unsafe living in this country because millions of Americans exercise their constitutional right to own guns then let him return to England where guns are outlawed and his chances of being a victim of a violent crime are far greater.
