NORTHERN PATRIOT: THE EMERGING TEA PARTY DILEMMA?

This Thursday last Northern Patriot informed me that he posted an article on his blog dealing with the Tea Party movement and its "emerging dilemma" especially on the issue of taxation. NP's article was based on the findings of the Bureau of Economic Analysis and a piece written by Bruce Bartlett for Forbes and can be seen here-you'll need night vision goggles to read it. 

My response to NP is as follows:

The Tea Party movement on the tax side is basically Supply Side. This is why they're supported by Reaganites like Larry Kudlow. Temporary targeted demand side tax cuts such as Americans got in 2008 under Bush, and again in 2009 under Obama, are not what most Tea Partiers have in mind as they are looking at the larger macroeconomic picture from here to posterity. This is no more of a pickled dilemma for Tea Partiers like myself than it is for Mr. Kudlow and any Supply Sider who understand the necessity for deep marginal across the board tax cuts (with corresponding budget cuts) on capital, labor and business-to jump start and stimulate growth in the economy like it did under Harding-Coolidge; Kennedy-Johnson; Reagan and Clinton*. This movement is barely a year old and will have plenty of time to mature and grow.

*The stimulative effects of Bush's Supply Side cuts were overwhelmed by the devastaring housing/financial meltdown set in motion by his predecessor's insane, corrupt, socialized homeownership program.

As for some Tea Partiers erring about current tax rates, that is certainly true. But what NP misses is that these folks are running ahead of reality. With the Bush tax cuts due to expire and huge taxes on healthcare, energy and capital gains coming down the pike, (and maybe even a VAT tax on top of that) soon reality will be catching up to them.

Tea Partiers understandably want to keep their high standard of living and refuse to go the way of Europe with its crushing taxation to pay for its self-destructive, bankrupting nanny states. WE ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD! NOT OLD, DECREPIT, ENERVATED, GOVERNMENT DEPENDENT EUROPE. Tea Partiers say NO to the European model which is now crashing and burning and being universally discredited. Obama and the Dems, and their regressive, subversive, un-American vision to Europeanize this country, are doing their best to feed this movement, energize it and ensure its survival as a dynamic political force in the critical years ahead. The dilemmas Tea Partiers may have are as nothing to the dilemmas emerging on the Left led by a fatally flawed and ill-starred man unfit to command. American exceptionalism is on the march and will triumph in the end over every obstacle thrown in its path.

And by the way, NP, in 1776 the Founding Fathers, like Tea Partiers today, were grossly at variance with "established political facts and trends." So DON'T TREND ON ME! my friend. Like the British monarchy the statist-socialist left will be crushed in the end with Obama following Carter, Hoover and LBJ into the Presidents' Hall of Shame. This is a certainty.

APOLLO VS NORTHERN PATRIOT: THE 18TH CENTURY, ARCADY AND THE LEFT SIDE OF HISTORY

Because of the first Adam's sin humanity was banished from paradise. Because of the second Adam's sinful economic theories humanity can't regain its lost paradisical state-so believes the Left if you follow their logic.

Northern Patriot writes:

Apollo replies:

18th century principles which in 1776 gave birth to the United States and Capitalism caused what economic catastrophes? The Great Depression and now Obama's Great Recession? You mean the failed government policies of the 20th and 21st centuries caused these disasters don't you NP? Not Adam Smith and our free market economy. Policies like tightening of the money supply by the Federal Reserve that caused a credit crunch in 1929 triggering the market crash and recession. Policies like Hoover's tax hikes, decifict spending, public works programs and anti-free trade protections which worsened the recession into a depression. Policies and programs like FDR's New Deal-Hooverism on steroids*-which prolonged the Depression by many years until the economy was rescued by the war? Are these examples of 18th century principles or bad 20th century government policy?

*Hooverism was "the New Deal in embryo" [Hooverism with a human face] as Harry Hopkins said.

If Hoover, the Teddy Roosevelt Progressive (FDR's choice for President in 1920-see), had left well enough alone; if like Grover Cleveland in the 1890s Depression he did nothing to fix the recession (Cleveland vetoed every Congressional bill to intervene in the crisis) it would have run its course like a blistering fever and ended in less than five years-like the1890s crisis. Just look what New Deal Liberalism (read Obamanomics) is doing to Japan: once the land of the rising economy and envy of the US it's now in the 21st year of a protracted recession. Ah, the wonders of 20th century government meddling, intervention and intrusion. Works like a charm every time.

Same goes for the real estate/financial meltdown of 2008. How was Adam Smith the cause of that?  What did Smith's free market principles have to do with Greenspan's easy money policies meeting the reckless, insane Clinton/Cuomo socialist (spread the wealth) housing hoax for uncreditworthy poor folks-which stood the principles of capitalism on its head. What does Smith have to do with government forcing banks to make bad loans which openned a Pandora's Box of countless woes? Unleashing corruption and greed on Wall Street unseen before? where trillions were loaned then buddled into worthless bonds creating an inevitable ticking bomb that exploded when Lehman's went bust. How was Adam Smith the originating cause of all this? Go ahead, knock yourself out trying to explain it.

Only a leftwing ideologue in denial of reality would blame the principles of free market philosphy for the colossal criminal sins of big government liberalism, social welfarism and crony capitalism.

Noteworthy, but unsurprising, was Obama's failure to mention in his speeches on financial reform government's complicity in the housing and financial meltdown, when it was the first cause. Unsurprsing because he backed the criminal, gangster-like, Madoff scheme of Clinton and Cuomo's housing program for people who couldn't afford loans. Ah the wonders of corrupt, leftwing government schemes to help the poor and perfect society; to redeem us from the "sinful inequalities" of 18th century capitalism by destroying wealth, killing jobs and creating more poverty and misery. Works like a dream everytime. Just look at the miracle of Greece a microcosm of coming entitlement diasaster for Europe, the US and Canada.

With utter contempt and pity we watch Obama the Blind recycling the mistakes and failed programs of the past; we see him rolling the dice with trillions in borrowed cash hopelessly hoping it won't come up craps. With contempt and pity we see him selling the same old snake oil of government solutions, of transforming earth into heaven based on fraud, deceit and trickery on everything from healthcare to energy. With contempt and pity we watch this clueless wonder desperately trying to stem history's tide against the radical Left worldwide; rushing madly to the aid of socialist Greece and Spain to save his unpopular domestic agenda from rightwing critics, tea party dissent and the dread of the electorate.

You concluded your post NP by saying that I long to return to Arcady: to "an Arcadian era of untrammeled free enterprise that never was" and that I'm dwelling on the "wrong side of history." Really now? Is that a fact?  And the right side of history is what? Self-destructive, bankrupting, entitlement-welfare societies that give priority to spreading wealth and spending it, not it's creation? Is Greece an example of the "right side of history," NP? Is Spain, Portugal, the UK and Italy? Was the French Revolution and the Soviet Union? How about Castro's Cuba and North Korea are they the future of humanity? Forerunners of the classless world society? Paradise restrored? Was LBJ's disastrous War on Poverty the right side of history? The war "where poverty won" and turned our inner cities into war zones and wastelands filled violence, drugs, disease and death? Or Clinton's disastrous homeownership scam which costing Americans trillions nearly caused another Depression? Was that on the right side too?

Or what of Obama's fraudulant healthcare plan whose astronomical costs he deliberately hid as Paul Ryan warned he did? Isn't this another leftwing scam caring nothing about deficits as long as government rules? Are these tragic experiments, mistakes, errors and lies the "right side of history?" Or are they simply fiscal lunacy, confusion and irresponsibility justified by the Dream of Arcady, of paradise regained-the state that Adam lost, the radical ideal of perfect social justice and equality. An ideal that killed millions and spent trillions on the deadly, destructive, impoverishing LEFT SIDE OF HISTORY.

Economist James Galbraith of Texas U, son of leftst economist John Galbraith (the mastermind who wrongly warned JFK that supply side tax cuts would precipitate the recession he was trying to avoid) was interviewed by Ezra Klien for the Washington Post on the long term dangers posed by deficit spending. Son James, a chip off the old man's crock, says that the danger posed is absolutely "ZERO;" and those who believe otherwise are hysterical and unhinged. I'm not kidding you: Galbraith said to Klien:

"Government does not need money to spend just as a bowling alley does not run out of points. What people worry about is that the federal government won't be able to sell bonds. But there can never be a problem for the federal government selling bonds. It goes the other way. The government's spending creates the bank's demand for bonds*, because they want a higher return on the money that the government is putting into the economy. My father said this process is so simple that the mind recoils from it."

*This reminds me of the leftist theory that higher taxes is good for people because it them work harder to earn more money.

This is the theory of an unrealistic utopian imbecile who's forgotten economics 101; a man intoxicated out of his wits with the dream of socialist heaven and the only means of getting there: unlimited, budget busting, deficit spending and borrowing. That the value of government bonds at some point will collapse into worthlessness killing demand isn't even a remote possibility for Galbraith who assures us that there will always be a huge market for them whatever their rating. Obama's Audacity of Blind Hope must be Galbraith's political bible.

And so, according to Galbraith, we can spend baby spend, endlessly, fearlessly, limitlessly spend until Obama's vision of the More Perfect Union is realized-the good and great society of prosperity and success for all (like the miracle of Greece where banks are being torched because they're no longer needed). The end justifies the means, the means of deficit spending and growing debt, and the dangers posed by these (national bankruptcy and collapse) are paranoid, rightwing scaremongering fantasies that we must ignore.

Let not your heart be troubled. Banish all fear from your mind. Fortune favors the bold and we must boldly plow ahead to the goal of societal perfection and never look back lest we turn to salt. It's a moral, social, political and global necessity. Humanity has a right to it; all history demands it; all time and eternity call for it. Giving up the worthy, noble, glorious goal of classless equality (where high and low, rich and poor exist no more), for foolish reactionary rightwing fears of insolvency and ruin is a crime against humanity bringing progress to a halt. We must get there at all costs. What are trillions in debt compared to this priceless ideal that pays for itself a zillion times over when it's reached? Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy must put spending on hyper-steroids, it's the only way to fix their mess and resume social progress. Forget about systemic restructuring and privatization; this is regression to the past; to a less civilized state of dog eat dog survival of the fittest greedy unjust capitalism. Such backsliding and heresy mustn't be tolerated.

Galbraith's views on the moral necessity for endless deficit spending is in proportion to his unreachable goal of socialist heaven and perfection. Since the precise amount of money to reach the goal can't be measured, quantified or known he's concocted a hairbrain theory that limits on federal spending and subsidies are unnecessry and wrong. Wrong until we get there; until the dream of perfect justice and equality is realized and society is epically redeemed.

Once the Promised Land of social justice is achieved, however far off, then we'll know that we've reached the upper limits of borrowing, deficits and accumualted debt and these will take care of themselves, vanish in time as if by magic (along with the state). This is Galbraith's theory of the withering away of the national debt. How simple. How elegant. How sublime. Worthy of an Einstein.  "The road of excess leads to paradise," William Blake had it right all the time. Until then it's full steam ahead to nirvana whatever the costs and consequences-whatever the mishaps along the way: recessions, depressions, hyper-inflation don't worry, they can be fixed by greater spending fueled by an inexhaustible supply of willing investors.

Surely our reckless, spendthrift, ignorant president is going gaga over Galbraith's views; since this is exactly the dangerous Neverland course that he and his party blindly pursue

BARACK OBAMA'S APPEASEMENT MENTALITY OR THE CARTER DISASTER ALL OVER AGAIN

Leftwing blogger Northern Patriot asked me for evidence of Obama's dangerous appeasement mentality in foreign, defense and strategic policy and that he's another Neville Chamberlain and Jimmy Carter on steroids. Obama's 15 months in office provide numerous examples of his folly. But the most glaring, exacerbating and perilous is his abusive relationship with America's global enemy number one: the neo-Soviet Putin/Medvedev KGB regime of Russia.

On February 7th of last year while at a security conference in the ominous city of Munich-three days before the crash of a US and Russian satellite over Siberia-Joe Biden announced that resetting relations with Russia would have top priority for the new administration.

On July 7th, less than a year after neo-imperial Russia's brutal invasion of Georgia, Obama in a speech from Moscow reaffirmed his adolescent leftist dream-first blathered to our embarrassment in Cairo-of universal equality in a post-nation state world where no nation is superior to or dominates other nations. A vision that can only be realized in an impossible one world, one humanity, borderless international tyranny where all nations abolish their sovereignty and live in classless, nationless equality and harmony under a planetary redistribution welfare regime-the kind of nonsense envisioned by George the self-Jew hating Soros. It was here that Putin and Medvedev surely understood that America had a weak, infantile, imbecile in the White House; a useful leftist ignoramus who they could play to their advantage in the ruthless, deadly game of international power politics (see).

On September 17th, the ominous anniversary of Stalin's invasion of Poland, Obama, literally kissing Putin's rear, scraps the anti-missile shield for Poland, the Czech Republic and Eastern Europe. Putin coolly responds that this concession was only a first step in reestablishing US/Russian relations. Unless Obama gives up more concessions he can forget about operation, kiss a$$, "reset."

Then on April 8th, 2 days before the ominous death of Poland's Lech Kaczynski inside Russia, Obama took the next historic step in resetting relations and signs a badly flawed nuclear Start Treaty with Medeved; a treaty that weakens America's strategic defense posture to the advantage of Russia (and China). A treaty so bad and amateurishly inept that it can't possibly pass the Senate (see).

And after all this scraping, groveling and sickening appeasement how does Putin reciprocate? How does he reward Obama for being such a sap? He slaps him across his dumb, clueless face, and insults the United States, by denying Biden entry into Russia to attend Victory Day festivities. And adding insult to injury when did Putin inform Biden about being disinvited to the event? When he was still in the States to save him a trip? NO! He waited till he got to Brussels. What a Russin a$$ kick (see).

From Biden at Munich to his humiliation by Putin at Brussels Obama is making the world a far more perilous and dangerous place one reset button and butt kiss at a time.

Postscript I: The Abusive Obama/Putin Relationship

Any self-respecting leader by now would have got the message that Putin is not his friend or ally, and has no interest in being such; that he's unappeasable and has nothing but contempt for you and your gestures of friendship, peace and good will. But not our pathetically gullable Jimmy Carter on steroids. No. Like the weaker party in an abusive relationship wanting to win the stronger party's love Obama will double down in trying to capture Putin's and Medvedev's heart. Putin plays Obama like a fiddle while American foreign policy burns. I watch in tears as this appeasement drama tragically unfolds. We've seen it all before: it's 1938 all over again and a replay of the Carter years.

The analogies between Obama and Jimmy Carter-a one term President-are manifold:

Both men served in a state legislature; both served briefly in high profile office, Carter as Governor of Georgia for four years and Obama as U.S. Senator for the same length of time. As presidential candidates both men were criticized for having thin resumes, little experience and few or no real accomplishments to qualify them for office. Moreover, as candidates both men were fresh faces, and "change" the central message of their campaigns was ridiculed by their opponents as empty, meaningless rhetoric.

Obama like Carter has come to the presidency after eight years of Republicans ruling the White House; Obama like Carter has inherited a recession from his predecessor and won an outright Democratic majority in Congress; Obama like Carter is untainted by an unpopular war and like Carter he has promised to always be truthful and never lie. Vowing to run an open, ethical, transparent administration Obama like Carter said he’d be a new kind of President transcending traditional party politics and business as usual in Washington; like Carter Obama vows to return morality to foreign policy and stress diplomacy in dealing with foes. And most importantly, like Carter Obama pledges to repair our nation’s damaged image and make us respected and loved again by the world.

I dare say that the same appeasement mentality Carter showed in dealing with the Soviet Union, when he declared that we had overcome "our inordinate fear of Communism," can be expected from Obama in his dealings with Iran, Russia, North Korea, China and other dangerous foes-he apparently has made a start in this direction by dropping the words "War on Islamic Terror" from official use because of its "offensiveness" to Molsem sensibilities. As Carter tried to unravel the Cold War Obama, so it seems, is now unraveling his predecessor's War on Terror as he believes that it was Bush's inordinate fear of terrorism-inspired by the 9/11 event-that drove us into Iraq and caused so much ill will, aggravating anti-American feelings across the Moslem world. Anyone with insight into the Arab/Moslem mind will know how fruitless this policy will be and the contempt it will inspire in a people who respect power and strength from their emulation of Mohammed.

With good reason one pundit called Obama Jimmy Carter's "carbon copy" as Obama like Carter believes that underlying our conflict with Iran and other enemies are misunderstanderings, legitament grievances and injustices commited by our country that can be resolved through engagement, appeasement and accomodation. A dangerous naive policy with a horrifically tragic history.

It has been said that Democrats are good at electing ignorant and inexperienced Presidents, men of poor judgment, instincts and ability unequal to the responsibilities and demands of the job and unfit to command our armed forces in wartime and peace. As Obama is the Democrats’ latest novice and weakling in chief his inadequacies like Carter’s will tragically undo him, ruin his presidency and imperil the nation's economy and security paving the way for a conservative resurgence of "Peace Through Strength" by 2012.

THE GREAT SOCIALIST HERESY: THE EU SELLS OUT TO CAPITALISM OVER GREECE

EU leaders sell out to capitalism to cure Greek debt crisis

Come to think of it the EU, from the leftist viewpoint, in pushing Greece toward privatizing their socialized healthcare, energy and transportation systems, as the only cure to end their debt crisis, are heretics and hypocrites. This is because the EU states are betraying the core principles of their socialist faith: that the redistribution and equalizing of wealth is the highest and noblest duty of the state. This unexpected turn must certainly have millions of confused and bewildered leftists here and abroad eating out their bleeding hearts and sympathizing with the rioters in Greece who are fighting for a bankrupt state to continue their perks and benefits. What a spectacle! The locusts want to go on ravaging the field they destroyed. Is there no end to their madness? But the worst events are yet to come in the anarchy of Socialism's utter demise and possible end of the EU.

EU WARNS GREECE: PRIVATIZE OR PERISH!

The Greek Military Junta lasted seven years, during which the dictatorship abolished all political freedoms. Imprisonments, torture and exile became an everyday phenomenon for every Greek.

Apollo writes:

“Will Greece accept the draconian remedies necessary for its recovery from bankruptcy? The cure of desocializing, deprogressivizing, deliberalizing much of its huge welfare entitlement state? That is, dismantling and privatizing it: healthcare, energy and transportation? Can the Greeks rise to the occasion and free themselves from this soft, impoverishing leftist tyranny? Will the Greeks pave the way for the genesis of liberty, self-reliance, hard work and individual responsibility in Europe?”

Northern Patriot answers:

"Not likely because as you know, freedom from want and privation is a central theme in European Social Democracies. Ask yourself a question, these are all democracies in the E.U. If scrapping the social safety net is so popular or a likely winning platform for conservative parties to run on and win, then why don’t they run on repealing the social safety network? Why would a European society adopt a free market approach to health care when we just went through an eighty year experiment that proves that it does not work? In light of the catastrophe presently underway in the Gulf of Mexico do you think many people are going to be open to a lack of regulation in energy production? Privitazation of the European Welfare State is not a real option, if it was it would have been tried by now. That said, they do have to figure out how to make it work, therein lies their challenge."

Apollo writes:

“Don't be fooled by today's "good news" and market recovery.There's a dark cloud of gloom hanging over Greater Europe blown in from bankrupt Iceland another failed experiment in leftist lunacy economics perhaps foreshadowing the fate of Greece and the EU.”

Northern Patriot answers:

"Nice metaphor but the economic problems of Iceland are the result of unregulated financial markets as much as anything to do with social policies."

I reply:

I get it, DP: the Greeks need to find a way to make their profligate, out of control spending work for them. To pursue an unsustainable fiscal course; keep the party going and drinks flowing, without suffering financial and economic doom. Is that what you're saying? If it is this is the audacity of blind hope and utopian thinking based on wishful thinking; the very ideological idiocy driving the White House and Congress to political ruin and America to bankruptcy.

The EU is warning Greece: 'PRIVATIZE OR PERISH!.' There is no other option, no other way left for you to save yourself from calamity. Continue digging deeper into debt and you'll completely shred your social safety net and become an impoverished third world state.' Greece will become like Ghana, Guatemala or the Gobi Desert-a wasteland of poverty and squalor.
 
These aren't capitalists speaking, DP, they're European social democrats who share your leftist views. But unlike you they're facing reality. Unlike you they understand the extreme peril Greece is in; unlike you they see that only economic freedom and Capitalism can save Greece and themselves. If democratic Greece is to survive and continue in the EU it must rearrange its priorities and become a wealth producing state; not one that spends and consumes more than it produces living beyond its means in a drunken orgy of deficit spending and rising debt. In short, the equation must change and change now: the creation of wealth not its spending and spreading must rule.

Unless the Greeks unleash the power of economic liberty from the shackles of the socialist nanny state they are doomed. If the people of Greece refuse the necessity of austerity and self-discipline and continue the drunken orgy of borrowing and spending unmindful of reality they'll be expelled from the EU as a failed state; and an iron fisted military dictatorship will likely return to power disciplining the people, forcing them to change at gunpoint, at the threat of imprisonment, torture, terror and death.

In sum, for Greece the road to national solvency leads through hell: it's either the hell of self-discipline and cold turkey from the ruinous addiction to social utopianism (spending for paradise until the treasury goes bust), or the worse hell of oppression and tyranny: the hell of disappearances, imprisonment, torture chambers and exile; the hell of brutal, severe, unpitying military rule and justice. And what goes for Greece goes doubly for Europe over which hovers an ominous cloud of volcanic ash spewed from busted, bankrupt, broken Iceland, ominous of things to come.
 
Postscript: Expanding Government Endlessly?

It even grew under Ronald Reagan, who ran on cutting government back, yet he added a cabinet level department and expanded executive level functions so that federal employment was higher when he left Washington than it was under Jimmy Carter."

My reply:

You speak of government expansion as if it can go on endlessly, limitlessly, forever without ruinous consequences, without America turning into an economic basket case like socialist Greece- a warning to us all. The party goes on: the drunken sailors of Greece downing another round of drinks.

Why did world stock markets rally today up sharply from a miserable Thursday and Friday? Because the drunken sailors running Greece were given another round of drinks. Greece was given a temporary fix. The can was kicked down the road a bit. Nothing was gained in solving the debt crisis-it means more pain ahead. 

Will Greece accept the draconian remedies necessary for its recovery from bankruptcy? The cure of desocializing, deprogressivizing, deliberalizing much of its huge unsustainable welfare entitlement economy? That is, dismantling, privatizing and capitalizing it: healthcare, energy and transportation? Can the Greeks rise to the occasion? Can they free themselves from this soft, impoverishing tyranny of statism? Will they pave the way for the genesis of liberty, self-reliance, hard work and responsibility in Europe? I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so. The collectivization of the Greek mind and government dependency for the good life is too far gone for a popular reform movement, a Greek Tea Party, to take hold. Greeks cling fiercely to their benefits and will raze their country to the ground to keep them. I fear it's back to the Junta, the Regime of the Colonels, the return of military rule. Greece's path to solvency is inescapably through hell; but that hell can be Hades or the darker more terrifying Tartarus. Either the Greeks make sacrifices voluntarily, civily and in freedom, or they'll be forced to at gun point suffering through the hell of dictatorship, pitiless justice and stern discipline.

Don't be fooled by today's "good news" and "market recovery." There's a dark cloud of doom hanging over Greater Europe blown in from bankrupt Iceland-another failed leftist experiment of the social justice entitlement state (up in smoke)-likely foreshadowing the catastrophic fate of Greece, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Italy and the growing European debt crisis.
 
The Ashlandic volcano is heating up again causing problems for international transportation in Europe. Is it ominous of coming financial catastrophe and the end of the EU?

If I'm nothing more than a "reactionary blatherer" then why bother coming here to challenge me with your facts, links and posturing? Why waste your time with unworthy little me? Surely you have better things to do with your time. Or is it, could it be, that this "blatherer" is taking up a great deal of space in your mind? More than you're comfortable with? More than you'd like to admit? Is it because my "blathering" fills you with doubt, or maybe even dread, that you come here to do battle with me? Do you come here out of fear that my views may be right about the president and Dems? Do I painfully stir your uncertainties and insecurities about their leadership and policies? If so I understand. I suffered through the same ordeal as a liberal back in the 70s with Jimmy Carter and the Dems. I wanted so badly, so desperately, so achingly to believe that Carter the outsider would bring dramatic, beneficial change to DC and lead the nation in a new and better direction. I wanted so badly to believe that Carter was the genuine reformer, the real thing, the healer, uniter, the statesman bringing peace. Oh dear God how I wanted to believe! But Carter, like Obama, lacked the right stuff for the presidency and failed this nation miserably.

And now we have a Jimmy Carter on steroids; an unpresidential leader who makes Neville Chamberlain look like Churchill; a mediocre man less qualified and experienced than Carter for the presidency; a moral and mental midget; a compulsive liar and ideological idiot with a grandiose self-image that's laughable and deranged. I fully understand the difficulty you have in believing now that you've seen the poor and disappointing reality. The reality of failed leadership in the healthcare wars where after eight fruitless months of nationwide campaigning: town halls, radio addresses and speeches the public rejected Obama's lies, tricks and gimmickry exposed by Paul Ryan at Blair and proven empirically by failed, cost exploding RomneyCare.

Matching this failure in leadership is the predictions and forecasts that dismally failed: The prediction of keeping unemployment under 8%. The forecast of 4 million new jobs created here, and 3 million "green jobs" created there falling from the sky like acid rain. After 15 months and billions spent by Obama and the Dems, and trillions printed by Bernanake's Fed, what do they have to show for it? What substantial significant, sustainable gains? A weak, precarious V-shaped recovery? A recovery that's barely creating jobs and growing the economy? A fragile recovery made uncertain by a coming deluge of taxes and regulations-the same anti-business, anti-growth policies that wrecked FDR's New Deal, Greece, Ireland and Japan? Because it's so hard to believe, NP, you come here to this blog to challenge this "blathering reactionary" so you can believe more strongly, so you can believe in peace.

With this being said you are right about one thing: Greece isn't America nor America Greece. Nor can Anthony Quinn dance like Fred Astair. But men like Obama and George the Greek are essentially the same: different faces and names but one soul in many bodies smiling, lying, deceiving and plotting; recklessly driven by an insane dream that hides a dismal, sad reality.

I'm no more wrong about Obama than Burke was mistaken about Robespierre. Different time, different place, similar struggle of men and ideas: freedom vs tyranny; and freedom will prevail!

If I stumbled, NP, it was upwards. What did I say that was unfactual? Massive growth of government? Unaffordable entitlements? Shrinking tax base and revenue for governemnt to fund programs? What is unfactual here? It's common knowledge. The only place I may have stumbled on the facts is on you being unable to dance.

I don’t dispute your argument that the Greek debt situation is causing a problem for the world’s stock markets .However the nearly 900 point plunge in the DJA today appears to be the result of two technical problems as per Suzy Gharib, Wall Street Reporter for the Nightly Business News. First at 2:30 PM the shares of P&G and 3M suddenly plunged. I doubt that either of these two stocks are too intimately intertwined with the Greek debt problems as both stocks quickly recovered. Thereafter someone mistakenly placed an order for 16 billion E-mini futures when it should have been for 16 million contracts which, along with the 3M and P&G trades whipsawed the market. I worked on Wall Street for fifteen years and I remember more than one mistake being made on days when there was overly heavy trading or some sort of crisis roiling the markets. If the dramatic plunge in the markets was really tied to the situation in Greece, the markets would not reveal the chart patterns that they do as the crisis is far from over.

THE COMING FINANCIAL PANIC AND DOUBLE DIP RECESSION (REVISED)

                  THE GREAT OBAMA RECOVERY OF 2010 
    
 Unemployment is at 9.9% and the underemployment rate is 17.1%. Is this cause for celebration? No? Then why is Obama patting himself on his back? Or was he scratching a terribly bad itch?

The wild shocking swing in the stock market Thursday, which at one point saw an astonishing 1000 point drop, as Greece was ablaze with riots and mayhem, set off alarm bells with some analysts that we may be witnessing a return to September 15, 2008 when Lehman Brothers crashed triggering a market collapse of 777 points two weeks later. With the exploding of the Greek debt bomb anticipating similar events in socialist Europe; and a US adminstration and Democrat Congress spending America into the abyss-and about to kill a weak recovery with new taxes and regulations-uncertainty fills the air for investors, finacial institutions and businesses. Is it September 15, 2008 all over again? Are these signs of another meltdown for Wall Street and Main Street? Larry Kudlow doesn't think so, but I do.

 

As I mentioned in a previous piece (see) Barack Obama's Senate seat was filled by Roland Burris, a lying dirtbag Chicago politician like himself (a fitting and ominous replacement) who was born in 1937 the year that the New Deal crashed and burned with the economy going into recession as a result of punishing corporate taxation, a deluge of federal regulations and unionization (which chalked up 1 million strike hours and killed jobs through collective bargining, benefits and wage hikes). Indeed, the recession began in August of that year (the very month Burris was born*) and preceeded a percipitous stock market crash in October when the market lost 49% of its value and millions of jobs were lost. Something very similar I believe lies ahead.

*Burris was born August 3, 1937. Obama celebrates his birthday on August 4th.
 
 
 
Whatever caused Thursday's wild market ride (computer glitch, skullduggery, etc.), is irrelevent to what it prefigures and signifies. Coming one day before the "good news" on unemployment the feared double dip recession is on its way (or a continued sluggish economy) and one doesn't need these analogies, "coincidences" and birthdays to see it-though it might help Larry Kudlow and his friends at NBC.

What's wrong with this statement? The crisis in Greece is already here having crossed the Atlantic on January 20, 2009 when Obama was sworn in as President. That day marked the start of the Hellenizing or Greecifying of the US economy which Obama is hell-bent on pursuing despite the chaos engulfing Greece. Obama is a braindead, stuck on stupid, leftist ideologue; struck deaf, dumb and blind by the egalitarian ideal; he learns nothing from past and present failures and recklessly repeats them hoping for a different outcome. If Obama were a citizen of Greece he would be rioting in the streets with the other leftist loons insisting that more government control of the economy is the answer to Greece's fiscal and economic woes. Come on Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh, cut the Left some slack. I can't fault any lefties for initially thinking that the Times Square terror bomb might have been the work of anti-government rightwing extremists wanting to replicate Timothy McVeigh's horrific crime. Why? Because of the facts. Look where the car bomb was parked and when: right outside a federal building peopled with hundreds of government workers during working hours on a weekday. Lisa Jackson announcing last December the new US government position that greenhouse gases are a threat to public health. As we are doomed to sickness and disease will Obama give the order to start his energy tyranny?

Obama's radical economically destructive leftwing agenda of moving America from a carbon based energy economy to a clean energy economy is in shambles. Based on the fiction of man made global warming Obama's last hope for Cap and Trade legislation-pealing off Republicans with his phony off shore drilling ploy-was shot from the sky by BP/Halliburton/Transocean (take your pick) and sank into the briny deep with the Deepwater oil rig. Now our die hard, save the planet, global warming ignoramus is left with no alternative but to abandon the democratic process and have the EPA, as it threatened in December (see), to impose a draconian regime of taxation and regulation on CO2 and greenhouse emissions.

Will the crazy man in the White House find the balls and recklessness to do this knowing it will hurt the recovery*? He found it with healthcare reform ramming an unpopular bill through Congress; he found it when he unilaterally froze the development, testing and modernization of nukes to the advantage of our adversaries. Now will Obama go through with his threat of December 7th to the cheers of his leftist base?

If the president truly believes that greenhouse gases pose both an existential threat to the planet and to public health and welfare then unless he acts to save America and the world from a CO2 catastrophe the Left will brand him a coward and weakling-a phony progressive selling out to big oil. This is the consequence Obama faces for inaction on Lisa Jackson's threat.

In short, is the tyranny of the EPA at hand micromanaging every nuck and cranny of our energy lives with significantly higher prices for gas, oil and electricity? Is Obama that ideologically insane? That detached from reality and common sense? Or was December 7th a baseless threat designed as an incentive to get Cap and Trade passed in the Senate as the lesser of two evils? ('Pass my bill or face drastic, disruptive EPA measures!').

Now that Cap and Trade is dead will Obama focus on punishing BP/Halliburton/Transocean for The Great Gulf Oil Spill of 2010 and call off all new offshore drilling in a feeble attempt to appease the Left? The squeeze is on. What will Obama do? We shall see.

Obama swore to God and man saying: "Trust me, trust me, I wouldn't lie to you" that Obamacare would lower health insurance costs up to 3000% and cut the deficit and debt, only to have his own Medicare Actuary blantantly contradict him with figures resembling Paul Ryan's.

Obama was hoping to keep the issue of illegal aliens on the back burner till after November. Then Jan Brewer explodes a border enforcement bill in his face blasting him for not securing Arizona's borders. If only he had kept Janet Napolitano governor of that state Obama wouldn't have this nasty political headache.

Obama regards Spain as the model state for his green revolution while its green economy has been declared a costly failure by the socialist state.

Obama's agenda calls for transformation of America into a European social state while that state is in crisis and collapsing throughout the region.

Poor Barack Obama can't seem to catch a simple break. Fortune smiled on him until he took the oath of office, a simple task he botched, the first of many mistakes for a presidency doomed for the greater good to a miserable, heartbreaking Fate.

THE GULF COAST DISASTER KILLS OBAMA'S RADICAL ENERGY AGENDA

Obama on Earth Day addressing environmentalists as Deepwater oil rig crashes and burns foiling his plans for a disastrous energy tyranny. How ironic, on the watch of the most environmental extremist president in US history our nation suffers what seems to be its worst environmental catastrophe.

On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day (Vladimir Lenin's 140th birthday), as Obama was addressing a group of environmentalists at the Rose Garden, BP's Deepwater Horizon oil rig went down in flames in the Gulf of Mexico taking with it Obama's dream of a new energy tyranny controlling America's energy future at great cost and damage to the US economy. Indeed, Obama's vision was not to be and America is saved from another leftist catastrophe.

Look at what's happened: As a ploy to seem moderate and mainstream on energy, and win over senate Republicans to his Cap and Trade power grabbing charade, Obama, on March 31st, announced his conversion to "drill baby drill" by opening up stretches of the Atlantic and Gulf coasts to offshore oil and natural gas drilling.

Then five days later in West Virginia a coal mining disaster-the worst in four decades-claimed the lives of 29 miners and injured dozens. Then two weeks later came the belching inferno of Deepwater killing 11 workers and leaking oil into the Gulf-wreaking havoc on the environment and Obama's job killing plans for a new clean energy economy. Coming just months after the East Anglia scandal and a bitterly blizzardry arctic winter this president's dream of clean energy heaven mandated and created by Washington is turning to dust along with his hapless, incompetent blundering presidency.

DOES DEEPWATER FORESHADOW AN ENERGY CRISIS ORIGINATING FROM THE MIDDLE EAST?

However, do the events of those 22 days, from the drilling announcement to the sinking of the rig, foreshadow the coming of a larger calamity like an energy crisis hitting our country? A crisis like happened in the 1970s with price controls, rationing and mile long gas lines caused by the Arab oil embargo and culminating in 1979 with Carter's despiriting malaise speech? Ominous is the fact that British Petroleum, operator of the destroyed rig, started in 1909 as a joint venture with Iran-the first such partnership between a Western power and a Middle East state in the region*.

*Called at the time the Anglo-Persian Oil Company.

A coal mine disaster*, British Petroleum (Iran), the Gulf of Mexico (emblematic of the Persian Gulf?) and Halliburton of Iraq war fame*, are we headed toward another energy crisis originating from Arabia? Will war, revolution and turmoil hit the Middle East sending energy prices soaring, choking off the non-recovery? Or will terrorists target the oil industry attacking off shore platforms, tankers or on land facilities? Was Sunday's failed bombing in Times Square, coinciding with the Gulf Coast spill, a warning of things to come**? It seems like God, history and nature, and terrible "man caused disasters," are moving against this luckless president and the collapsing, spendthrift, soft-on-terror, pro-illegal immigrant Left.

Postscript: The Numerology of the Deepwater Disaster

The mining tragedy in West Virginia occurred on the 440th day of the Obama adminstration giving us a mutlipe of Obama's presidency number 44 (10x). The explosion of Deepwater Horizon occurred before midnight on April 20th on the 455th* day of Obama's presidency**. Look at this amazing numeric "coincidence:"

* 45 is the number of the next President. Will an energy crisis causing rising fuel prices be a major factor in Obama's reelection defeat thus making the GOP nominee the 45th President?

**January 20 2009 (Obama's inaugural) to April 5, 2010=440 days, The Deepwater disaster occurred 15 days later on Obama's 455th day in office.

The first three letters of the oil rig's name translate exactly into the number of this inauspicious day of Obama's failing presidency.

Now if we multiply 455 by 44, Obama's presidency number, we get the five digit number 20020, indicating the year 2002 when state senator Obama gave his stirring speech in Chicago at an anti-Iraq war rally. Some see this speech as the beginning of Obama's run for the presidency (because of his opposition to the war Obama defeated Hillary Clinton in the primaries). In this speech Obama said:

"You want a fight, President Bush? [Instead of going to war in Iraq] Let's fight to wean ourselves off Middle East oil through an energy policy that doesn't simply serve the interests of Exxon and Mobil."

What Obama meant, of course, is a policy to serve the interests of big government, the hysterical pseudo-scientific climate change lobby and the heavily subsidized green energy industry in a command and control energy economy sucking more life out of investment, innovation and entrepreneurial vitality-while destructively raising energy costs for consumers. Thanks to the Deepwater disaster Obama and the Dems won't be taking this nation down the wrong energy road in weaning us off Mid East and foreign oil with disastrous, phony, Cap and Trade, economy wrecking, climate change policies. Ut vseems that Providence is at work in foiling this foolish man and ruining his leftwing plans.

IS BERNANKE A TEABAGGING RACIST?

An ungrateful, teabagging, backstabbing Bernanke accepting reappointment as Fed Chief from Obama.

If, as Jan Garofalo, MSM and many leftists say, that anti-Obama racism is driving the mostly white, rightwing Tea Party movement-proved by the relative silence of teabaggers during the Bush years when we went from a budget surplus to deficits near $450 billion-then what does that say about Fed Chief Ben Bernanke? Bernanke himself must be a redneck, teabagging racist too-no less an anti-Obama bigot than Palin, Beck and Rush Limbaugh. Why? Because like the teabaggers Bernanke was relatively silent about the deficit and debt during the Bush years. Because like the teabaggers he didn't start sounding the alarm about growing, ballooning, unsustainable deficits until Obama became president.

This is born out by the facts: During the Bush years Bernanke was Fed Chief 1084 days in which time he gave only one warning before Congress about the potential hazards of our "vicious deficit cycle*." (This largely went unnoticed by the press). Whereas in the 465 days of the Obama administration Bernanke has warned on seven different occasions about a looming debt and deficit crisis that is threatening national bankruptcy**.

Isn't this unfair, unjust and discriminatory? Isn't it unbecoming the conduct of a Fed Chief? If Bernanke is serious about the deficit and debt and its impact on national solvency he would have been just as outspoken under Bush as he now is under Obama-or equally silent. How else can we explain this imbalance except that Bernanke has it in for Obama. That he secretly hates the man because of his skin color. That he thinks of him as a shvartzer*. That he is either a stealth tea bagging anti-Obama racist using the deficit to discredit and undermine the president; or, just as bad, he's a dirty, little, ungrateful neocon Jew** who stabbed Obama in the back once he was reappointed. Whatever be the truth behind Bernanke's ingratitude one thing is clear: Tea Party Patriots should stop attacking him as they have in the Fed Chief a powerful ally in their racist war against Obama.

*Yiddish for black man.

Rumblings are heard in Ted Kennedy's grave after Obama's decision to build wind farm

I'm glad Eric Holder launched a criminal probe into Goldman Sachs. It's about time Obama did something to jump start the economy.

Ted Kennedy went to his death begging Obama not to build a wind farm in view of his Hyannisport estate. Ignoring his mentor's last dying wish Obama ordered its construction at which time Teddy's body could be heard rumbling in his grave passing a hurricane of foul wind.

Life is s blessing, but liberals see it as a curse that only government can fix or abortion avert.

The widening oil slick in the Mexican Gulf is a drop in the pale when compared to Obama's vast ocean of hoaxes, deceptions and lies.

What the oil leak is to the Mexican Gulf speaking is to Barack Obama. When he opens his mouth the lies ooze from his lips creating slicks of deceit and falsehood everywhere.

Obama's lies are as long as his legs and his integrity's no bigger than his shoe size.

Christina Romer claims that "the recession is definitely over and the [sick] economy is on the road to recovery." Yeah, while the patient is slowly bleeding to DEBT.

I thought Cap & Trade was a brilliant idea for America's long term economic vitality until I heard Obama outdo his genius when he accidentally spilled his plans for CAP WHAT YOU MAKE: a ceiling on earnings so that no one gets too rich making more money than they need on the backs of the poor and oppressed in a zero sum game of national greed. If only the Founders had thought of this; we would still be a nation of 13 states, half free half slave with Indians living in teepees hunting buffalo, deer and snakes.

This infantile economic thinking proves the point that this Michael Jackson of American politics who mentally dwells in Neverland is our first teenage president. The counter-youth-culture of the Sixties finally taking over the White House where every day is a "love in" a "be in," a Woodstock Festival of peace and love, celebrating immaturity as the new American ideal. Oh to be young again!

It's ironically amazing: Obama beats an Arizona senator for the presidency; then he makes Arizona's governor Homeland Security chief so that Jan Brewer could replace her and kick him in the butt with a nationally popular border security bill worsening his alienation from the public after the passage of healthcare. Even if the courts should invalidate the bill as unlawful it's doing its damage in undoing Obama, our unfit to command weak-on-security-in-chief whose disastrous presidency turns into a catastrophe with each passing week.

Do I have anything good to say about Obama? Of course I do: God will bring great good out of the damage he will do as the real America of freedom and national faith awakes in the spirit of 1776. Am I inciting you to violence again?
